Strange Symlink Behavior in Leopard
I just noticed some strange symlink behavior with my Samba shares on my Debian box. Usually directory symlinks show up as folders on Mac OS X. But today I noticed that they started to show up as file aliases. You can click on them but they don’t open the target folder. I just recently upgraded to Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard and I thought that it might have something to do with it as my Samba shares worked just fine in Tiger. Then it dawn on me that I just recently upgraded my Debian box Samba package from from 3.0.24-6etch4 to 3.0.26a-1. As soon as I downgraded to the previous version everything started to work just fine. I don’t know if this is a bug in Leopard or in Samba but for right now I am not touching it while it works.
